OPTUNTIA CYLINDRICA IMBRICATA, common name: cane cactus and tree cholla, plus many other cultural and area specific names.

Supplied fresh and cut to order, our optuntia cylindrica imbricata cuttings are sourced from our donor plants in the mountains of Catalonia.

Options available as unrooted cuttings:

Easy to grow and fruitful cactus, ideal for creating impenetrable property boundaries.

Optuntia cylindrica imbricata produces fruit at around 7 years of age.

Imbricata has deep pink flowers with vibrant yellow centers, which open in early summer and bear fruit in early autumn. The fruits are bright orange and suitable for human consumption.

This cactus grows very fast; one cylinder can produce up to 12 cylinders per year.

It requires little watering and tolerates most well-drained soils, both in full sun and partial shade.
